One town. One story.
Destination Vardø brings together key tourism players in Norway’s easternmost town — including Vardø Hotel, Birding Vardø, Varangerkokken, and Vardø Adventure — under one cohesive identity and platform.

THE WHY
Destination Vardø came to us with a clear goal: bring several local companies under one umbrella brand, while keeping Vardø Hotel at the center of it all. The ambition was to package the client experience in a way that made it easy and compelling to book not just a place to sleep, but a full stay in Vardø. By unifying the different offerings, the goal was to create a smoother guest journey and showcase the town’s unique mix of history, hospitality, and nature.




THE HOW
We built a brand and website with flexibility at its core, something that could represent different businesses now, while also being ready for new additions in the future. Every element was designed to tie back to Vardø Hotel, making it the natural hub for all bookings and activity planning.
Visually, the first iterations gave each sub-company its own character. As the concept matured, we refined the design into a more interconnected system, creating consistency while still allowing for small differences in expression.




THE CHALLENGE
The biggest challenge was simplifying the user experience. With multiple offerings and directions to explore, we had to resist the urge to show everything at once. The solution was to cut out anything non-essential, building a clear and intuitive navigation system focused on the three things that matter most: booking a room, booking an activity, and checking out the restaurant.
