Manndalen Sjøbuer

Eight seasons, eight cabins
Manndalen Sjøbuer is a collection of seaside cabins in Kåfjord, Northern Norway. We helped them rebrand and build a new website that reflects their connection to Sea Sami culture and the rhythm of the Arctic year.

THE WHY
The client came to us with an outdated brand and website that no longer reflected the uniqueness of the place. They wanted to better highlight the story behind the cabins, especially the Sea Sami concept and the eight seasonal shifts of the Sami year, which tie directly into the eight cabins available for booking. In addition to the stays, the new site needed to showcase the local restaurant and activities available in the area.

THE HOW
We started with the logo and color palette. Each of the eight Sami seasons is represented through its own color, creating a vibrant yet balanced system. To keep the design from becoming too busy, we leaned into white space and minimal layouts — reflecting the calm and mindfulness that comes from spending time in this part of Norway.
We also brought in custom petroglyph-style illustrations, inspired by local surroundings at the campsite. These were paired with subtle animations and motion graphics to bring a sense of life and texture to the brand, without losing the feeling of quiet.

THE CHALLENGE
The biggest challenge was working with a wide range of colors and making sure they complemented each other. We wanted each season to feel distinct, but the overall experience had to stay cohesive and calm. In the end, it came down to balance and letting the design breathe while still giving each element its place.
